Coming up this week on Feminist Magazine with hosts Lynn Harris Ballen & Felicia Montes : :  MAY DAY is coming– we hear from Bamby Salcedo, founder of the TransLatin@ Coalition, on organizing the May Day Trans Queer Contingent rally & action in West Hollywood. … THEN we talk with indigenous birth workers from Ticicalli Yahualli, Maria Rivera and Martha Escudero, who share the transformative work of their collective working with mothers and babies in alterNative birthing ways.
… PLUS we hear about the life, work & recent passing of lesbian feminist pioneer Sidney Abbott, co-author of the 1972 classic “Sappho Was a Right On Woman.”
… AND we’re joined by Hilary Klein—author of the new book “Compañeras: Zapatista Women’s Stories”—which tells the untold story of women’s involvement in the Zapatista movement in their own voices.
