Jan 20 on FM: Girls Helping Girls, Local Kids in Harmony & Sarah Schulman on ‘Ties That Bind’

Hosted by Celina Alvarez and Lynn H. Ballen

What kind of difference can just one high-school girl make in the lives of thousands of girls and women around the world? A surge of empowerment will hit the airwaves when that high-schooler – Sejal Hathi – talks to us about what inspired her to embark on a journey to connect girls globally.

Then Dr. Margaret Martin, founder of L.A.’s own Harmony Project, and music student Kiana Coronado-Ziadie (Zi-dee) will fill us in on their recent visit to the White House.

Plus we talk to author Sarah Schulman about her thought-provoking new book, Ties That Bind: Familial Homophobia and Its Consequences.
