FM July 7: Honoring Transnational Feminists / Betita Martinez & Haunani-Kay Trask/ w/ Cherrie Moraga

THIS WEEK on Feminist Magazine with host Lynn Harris Ballen ::  In a matter of 4 days, we lost two beloved movement leaders – transnational feminist – Elizabeth “Betita” Martinez on June 29 and Native Hawai’ian activist scholar Haunani-Kay Trask on July 3. Both forces to be reckoned with. They taught, fought, listened, lectured, organized, breathed and worked with others – to help create worlds they envisioned. May they both rest in power and love.
Margo Okazawa-Rey of KPFA Womens Magazine  talks to Cherríe Moraga – internationally acclaimed Chicana writer and feminist activist – about these visionary leaders and the upcoming 40th Anniversary edition of ‘This Bridge Called My Back’

Wednesday at 7pm on KPFK
