FM July 2: Feminist Library / Womens Museum / White Noise

THIS WEEK on Feminist Magazine with co-hosts Lynn Harris Ballen & Suzette Zazueta  ::  FIRSTThe Feminist Library On Wheels (F.L.O.W.) is turning Five! And they’re celebrating with a community Anniversary Party on July 6th. We’re joined by co-founder Dawn Finley to hear about F.L.O.W.’s herstory as an intersectional feminist and free mobile lending library. And all about what to expect at the anniversary party fest – authors, zine making, merch, vegan treats and more.
THENThe Women’s Museum of California brings the untold stories of remarkable women to light through original exhibits and community engagement. Located in San Diego – the museum began as a personal archive, reclaiming herstory, and has grown into an institution with exhibits that range from exploring how refugee crises affect women globally to feminist waves in the 20th century. The museum’s new Executive Director Jenni Prisk joins us to talk about her vision and community support.
ANDCherise Charleswell continues her conversation with members of the White Noise Collective. Through writing, workshops, monthly dialogues, and in coalition with other individuals and organizations, their work aims to encourage exploration of what it means to navigate white supremacy, patriarchy, cisnormativity, heteronormativity, and other oppressive ideologies through the experience of both gendered oppression and white or light skin privilege. This week she speaks with Nicole Wires, a member of the collective who joins us to discuss White Womanhood’s role in systems of oppression.

All this on KPFK on Tuesday at 2.
