FM Nov 6: Election Day / African American Women PAC / OneVoteAtATime

THIS WEEK on Feminist Magazine, with hosts Lynn Harris Ballen & Karina Elias :: FIRST … We hear from Tre Temperilli – a field organizer for the Stacey Abrams campaign in Georgia. Abrams’ campaign for governor has drawn national attention, and the possibility that she would be the country’s first black woman elected as governor. And we hear from Tre about about their work as the Field Organizer for Kennesaw, Cobb County on the campaign, the importance of the women led ticket of Abrams/Amico, how election day has been going and more.
AND … Gun control is a huge issue in these mid-term elections, and Sarah Ullman leveraged her skills and is doing something about it. She founded a super PAC called One Vote at a Time in 2016, after the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla. Her PAC writes, directs and edits campaign ads for progressive candidates who support gun safety. And with her all-female crew she’s created almost 200 campaign ads for the midterm elections – completely free to the candidates. We’ll hear from her about the candidates they’ve supported and the races she’s watching this election day.
THEN … We are joined by Celestine Palmer (Founder), Ingrid Palmer (President/Executive Director), and Robin T. Daniels (Historian Board Member) of Los Angeles African American Women Political Action Committee (LAAAW PAC). LAAAW PAC is a progressive political action committee.  Cherise Charleswell talks to them about their efforts to assist women in becoming more involved in the political process, and hosting informational workshops and seminars on key issues.

All this on Feminist Magazine on Tuesday at 2.
