Francis Polytechnic High School in Sun Valley, about her advocacy for girls in stem, her experiences as the only girl in a cybersecurity course, and her recent attendance at a Community Town hall organized by the leadership of the Los Angeles County Women & Girl’s Initiative (WGI). The mission of the Women and Girls Initiative is to establish Los Angeles County as a leader in creating opportunities and improving outcomes for all women and girls.
THEN: Dr. Jamila Perrit, a fellow for Physicians for Reproductive Health, joins us to discuss the state of Black maternal health in the United States, including the disproportionate barriers and unequal treatment Black women face in their maternal and reproductive health care.
