FM April 25: Jessica Stern / OutRight / When Your Parents Are Deported

THIS WEEK on Feminist Magazine with co-hosts Valecia Phillips and Karina Elias:

We focus on the impact of the unpresidency on the international women’s and LGBTI communities, and on immigrant families.

FIRST  the Trump Administration recently appointed two anti-abortion and homo/transphobic hate groups as representatives to the US delegation to the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Lynn Harris Ballen talks with Jessica Stern, Executive Director of OutRight, about how her organization fought back on behalf of women and LGBTI folks worldwide.

PLUS … Trump issued executive orders that called for the deportation of any and all undocumented immigrants in the United States. But what does thousands—or millions—of deportations mean for the uniquely American families that have grown up in immigrant homes? Featuring a podcast from Bitch Media called “When Your Parents Are Deported”, we hear the stories of two women who have tried to keep their families together even as the immigration system has torn them apart.

All this on Feminist Magazine on KPFK 90.7 FM. Tuesday at 2P.
