This week on Feminist Magazine with hosts Valecia Phillips & Cherise Charleswell :  We’re going global! We speak with 8 times Nobel Peace Prize nominated, Dawn Engle, Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Peace Jam Foundation, to discuss her work with peace building and social activism, which includes the One Billion Acts of Peace Campaign.  And she tells us about how critical peace and stability are to global development and improving the lives of women and children around the world.
The second half of today’s show features a piece from Making Contact’s Women Rising Radio. Profiles of global community organizers – whose work is based in their compassion and common sense, and whose organizing is making a worldwide impact. We hear from Ruth Messinger of the American Jewish World Service, Amber Khan and Zainab Salbi of Women for Women International, and Martha Karnga of the Bassa Women’s Development Association in Liberia.
Hear about all this and more, on Tuesday at 3 – THIS is what Feminism Sounds Like!
