Hosted by Lynn Harris Ballen and Valecia Phillips :
Rachel Gelfand interviews Rochelle Ruthchild about the 888 Women’s History Project and their new documentary ‘Left On Pearl’. This important feminist film tells the story of a 1971 take over of a Harvard building. Women occupied 888 Memorial Drive for 10 days! Their dynamic occupation resulted in the Cambridge Women’s Center, which remains a vibrant space today.
Then, FemMag Reads hosts Danielle Roderick and Meg Wade give us their take on the new Claire Messud novel – “The Woman Upstairs”
And … it’s The Raincoats, one of the most famous all-female post punk bands. Christene Kings spoke to them on tour, with an exclusive backstage interview.
This is what Feminism Sounds Like! Tuesday at 3pm.
Music on the show:
Esther Phillips: From a Whisper to a Scream, Linda Tillery: Freedom Time, The Raincoats : Feminist Song & live at The Echoplex in L.A!
