July 23 on FM: Know Your IX, #TexasFeministArmy & Gender at Comic-Con

Hosted by Lynn Harris Ballen, Ariana Manov & Danielle Roderick:    First, University of Southern California student Tucker Reed and other members of SCAR – the Student Coalition Against Rape – join us in studio to talk about their recent Title IX filing success. And how they’re standing up & forcing the university to deal with campus sexual assault charges from students
Then, writer and reproductive justice activist Jessica Luther joins us from Austin Texas, fresh from her role as the unofficial coordinator of the #TexasFeministArmy that took over the Texas legislature during the fight against the state’s new anti abortion laws.
And how do you talk about gender at Comic-Con? Christy Blanch – who teaches a “SuperMOOC” class called Gender Through Comic Books – moderated a Gender panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend. She reports back on the panelists & all about gender identity, stereotypes and roles of both men and women throughout the history of the comic book medium, and the difficulties for strong female character acceptance in all media.
All this on Feminist Magazine this Tuesday at 3pm. THIS is What Feminism Sounds Like!
