Dec 21 on FM: Throw like a Grrrl & “F’em!”

Hosted by Lynn Harris Ballen & Monique Meza:

Here’s the sports camp you wish was around when you were in middle-school! We talk to GRRRL co-directors Elizabeth Labedz and Whitney Daleiden about Girls Reclaiming Revolutionary Recreational Learning. A girls’ sports camp empowering girls to realize their full potential through sports, dance, self-defense, health education, and social justice education. Creating a network of powerful girls who are self-confident and support each other to fight beauty standards, attitudes, and media assumptions.

And, writer and activist, Jennifer Baumgardner talks to us about her new book  ‘F’em! Goo Goo Gaga and Some Thoughts on Balls‘.  A compilation of some her best thought provoking essays.  Hear her talk about her evolution as a feminist and how she carved a space for third wave feminism to progress. We’ll talk classics every self-identifying feminist should read and even address the idea of a possible fourth wave feminism currently taking shape.

All this and much more, this Wednesday night at 7 p.m. This is what feminism sounds like!
