Community Dialogue
Women Demand Bailout: Resources for those of us with the least!

This Community Dialogue will be a coming together to discuss ways to reclaim the money and other resources now spent on war and occupation and bailing out banks and corporations instead of caring for people and the environment. Women who are paying the highest price for the economic crisis will tell our stories, raise questions and make action proposals.

• Those of us who are impacted by State Budget cuts, who are recipients of IHSS, food- stamps, welfare, unemployment benefits; who are homecare providers and other caregivers, formerly incarcerated women and others who have been or risk being criminalized, immigrant families impacted by ICE Raids, young people, those of us with disabilities, sex workers and other women at risk of violence, grandmothers caring for grandchildren, mothers who have had their children taken by the state, are among those encouraged to participate.

• Legal aid, advocates, representatives of social service agencies, elected officials and other professionals are invited to listen, to share information on what they can do and what resources are available including in President Obama’s stimulus package.
