Hosted by Lynn Harris Ballen and Celina Alvarez with Jojo Blondal
Poet, writer and cultural theorist Judy Grahn joins us to talk about her recent adventures in collaborating with performers like Ani Di Franco, teaching creativity and in remythologizing the feminine. She’ll also tell us all us all about her latest poetry collection “Love Belongs to Those Who Do the Feeling”. And we’ll get the update on her upcoming performance in L.A.
Then local students from South L.A. ask us: “Do You Mind Reading What You’re Eating?” It’s all part of the Health Eating, Active Communities project that’s supporting these kids to bring healthier food choices to their own neighborhood stores.
And we hear from Jo Dufault (DOO- FO) curator of the “Las Mujeres Del Alma Exhibit” in Fort Worth about their participation in this year’s Sor Juana Festival. It’s a multidisciplinary festival honoring one of Mexico’s greatest writers, Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, a 17th century nun who valued education and freedom of expression for women.
