Stanton was a feminist ancestor, thinker, writer and activist; and Linda Gordon author of Dorothea Lange: The Photographer as Agricultural Sociologist. Lange was a photographer of Migrant workers, Japanese-Americans in detention camps, and her only known self-portrait, her permanently disabled foot caused by polio in childhood.
