As Obama continues to state there is no torture in America, our guests bear witness to the daily torture within the prison industrial complex.
We will have a conversation with organizer-Kim McGill, co-founder of the Youth Justice Coalition/Free L.A. a Southern California-based youth led movement that works against race, gender and class inequality in the Los Angeles juvenile justice system. As well as, youth organizers Jasmin Hernandez, survivor of the juvenile prison system and JaToya Jackson, who has lost family and friends to the streets and police violence.
Later, Nejma Shea, artist, activist, and survivor of the adult prison system will dialogue with us about the prison industrial complex.
Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.
