Seems the presidential candidates didn’t get our memo on critical issues affecting women. But Women’s eNews had that memo. Joining us was Editor in chief Rita Henley Jensen of Women’s eNews to discuss “The Memo: Special Report: Status of U.S. Women.” which was presented to members of congress.
Then FemMag met Professor and author Debra J Blake talking about, “Chicana Sexuality and Gender: Cultural Refiguring in Literature, Oral History, and Art.” Blake looks at how Chicana writers have reworked iconic Mexican female folklore and how contemporary U.S Xicana/U.S. Mexicana women characterize their lives in real-life ways in relation to mythical figures like La Llorona, Malinche & the Virgen of Guadalupe.
