FM Nov 3 : Women’s Health Protection Act / Holding Change – adrienne maree brown

THIS WEEK on Feminist Magazine with host Lynn Harris Ballen : FIRST … We’ve hearing a lot about Texas, but really about state by state efforts in conservative states across the country – to restrict or dismantle abortion rights and access. And it feels like we’re fighting the same battles over and over again in the Supreme Court. But what we’re not hearing much about is the PROACTIVE work at a Federal level that would protect abortion access for all. We’re joined now by Candace Gibson, associate director of government relations at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice to tell us about the The Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) and how we can take action to support it passing.
AND … As organizers or activists we’ve all been in those meetings – the ones where we need to make decisions as a group or vision a larger goal. In our complex world, facilitation and mediation skills are as important for individuals as they are for organizations. How do we practice them in ways that align with nature, with pleasure, with our best imagining of our future? Lynn talks to author and visionary thinker adrienne maree brown about her recent book
Holding Change: The Way of Emergent Strategy Facilitation and Mediation – it centers Black feminists, with skills and wisdom for any of us working to create changes in our world.

All this on KPFK on Wednesday at 7.
