THIS WEEK on Feminist Magazine with hosts Lynn Harris Ballen and Kiyana Williams : FIRST… In December 2012 Americans woke up to the horrific news of the slaughter of 20 elementary students in Sandyhook Connecticut, but 5 years later, nothing has been done to truly address gun violence in the US. And more recent mass shootings have done nothing to change that. Cherise Charleswell talks to Laurie Saffian, Chair of the Board of Women Against Gun Violence, and Rhonda Foster – a gun violence survivor & Board member, about the continuing epidemic of gun violence, their advocacy work, and how US gun laws impact women— particularly in terms of domestic violence.
