Hear all about ‘Join Women On The Bridge’ – one of the many International Women’s Day events – when we celebrated… and yes, we agitated!
On March 8, women from Rwanda and Congo came together in peace – on a bridge between their two countries – to demand an end to war. In solidarity, Women for Women International sponsored marches bringing women (and men!) together on bridges in 70 places around the world. Women for Women Founder and author, Zainab Salbi and Linda Milazzo from CODEPINK Los Angeles – co-sponsors of the LA march – talk about this worldwide event.
And what’s new at TeAda Productions? The local innovative performance company brings us new works – created and performed by people of color, with a social justice perspective. TeAda’s artistic director Leilani Chan joins us, along with Karen Anzoategui, who will be debuting her performance piece SER.
Plus we meet local filmmakers Carmen Elena Mitchell, Jennifer Weaver & Reena Dutt – the fearless producing team from the new web series : The Real Girls Guide to Everything Else. It’s a fun & thought- provoking show about a feminist reporter who goes undercover …. as a glitter-wearing, shoe-obsessed, Cosmo-drinking straight girl. All to to finance her dream project – a book on the Afghan women’s struggle for civil rights.
