FM June 11: Beyond Resolved / Every Woman Biennial / LGBT Kids

THIS WEEK on Feminist Magazine with co-hosts Lynn Harris Ballen and Suzette Zazueta ::
FIRST … Beyond Resolved is an organization designed to combat gender inequality in public forum debate in high schools across the country. We hear from three of the organizers: high-schoolers Yukiho Semimoto, Zara Chapple and Dori Schurr about their work to create a more integrated debate community that is inclusive and accepting towards all genders.
THEN … The ‘Every Woman Biennial‘ is taking on L.A. this month with the work of 600 female and non-binary artists. Since 2014, the Every Woman Biennial has showcased the work of female and female identified artists in New York City.
But now the Every Woman Biennial has a free pop-up version happening across L.A. And we’re joined live in studio by founder C.Finley and L.A. based artist, Suzanne Wright.
AND … Yes, we’re in the middle of LGBT Pride month, but what about the kids? Sarah Mirk of Popaganda talks to ‘Everyone is Gay’ co-founder Kristin Russo, sharing ideas for discussing queer identities with kids of all ages. And their work to provide families & educators of LGBTQIA kids much-needed advice, resources, and community. The site is a first-of-its-kind digital space dedicated to connecting parents, caregivers, and educators with answers to their questions about the LGBTQIA young people in their lives.

All this on Tuesday at 2 on KPFK.  This is What Feminism Can Sound Like!
